I did my student licence, years ago, but at $45 a lesson when I was making $150 a week, it got too expensive. Flying was easy, landing took some practice.I now know why cessnas have strong undercarriage as I used to bounce down the runway at times. Great fun and a bit of a challenge. Would get my full licence, now, given the chance. One day, when I win the lotto...........Bill
Hueys or UH 1s are interesting machines. I was scared ****less the first time I went up in one. Chinooks are one of the noisyest aircraft I have ever been in! Having a shaft revolving above your head doesn,t give you much confidence, either. At least they had 2 engines- hueys had one.......And you can gues what happens when it fails.I don,t suppose a Chinook would fly far on one motor , either. Great experience flying in them, though. Bill
They all have the glide path of a house brick when the fan stops you need height to auto rotate to a heavy landing .. A landing is really only a controlled crash and every one you walk away from is a good one

Unfortunately 9/11 took a lot of fun out of flying. Security doors were installed on entrance to Flight Deck, passengers were no longer permitted to enter Flight Deck. I enjoyed having visitors into our little domain, especially young people learning to fly with an aviation career in mind. There are a lot of videos on YouTube and I've selected two for you. The first features my last employer and the airplane I really loved. (That is not me in the video) The second is an Airbus A380 making an approach into San Francisco. Hope you enjoy.
MMMM in another life I served with the RAAF as a motor transport driver. They offered to teach me too do just that, " YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING" (minus the expletives) was the answer the only thing I will jump out of will be the cabin of a truck, don't need no parachute for that.
I like his Pre-flight routine....if the switch is down, flick it up - if it is up, put it down. If the light is off, switch it on, if the light is on, switch it off.
Time to land? Reverse the previous procedure. Simple really.

Since light travels faster than sound, some people appear bright until you hear them speak.

Milo Aviation update _______________________
I had a lot of fun with the 747's the 737's and heli's but now days since I bought my first payware plane I have been trying to think a bit like more like a real pilot, and learn to fly just one plane plus with the GFS (Global financial situation ) it was proving costly to run so many aircraft, and so many different flights and keeping costs down... So hopefully our new plan will be much more economic and financial for us,
so Milo Aviation has sold of all the Jets, ie Lucy the A380, Big bird the 747 and 3 of our stock passenger 737's but keeping Venus De Milo for our VIP flights, which will be kept at our hanger at Sydney Kingsford Smith IAs
mostly from now on we will be flying from Wollongong airport, and flying the awesome Cessna Grand Caravan 208b, we have 3 cargo versions and 2 passenger version for local (Australian) flights, We are considering keep a helicopter of some sorts and a couple of the light aircraft trikes for joy flights and flight training which is available now here at the Wollongong Illawrra airport..
oh also we have and always will have discounts any where in aus for any one on this site..
also on a side note , I will be planing a world flight in a purpose built Cessna Grand Caravan 208b,
more details later on..
so that's the plan at the moment and for near future... thanks for supporting Milo Aviation
2 planes in my pics are one of the cargo and passenger versions of the Cessna Grand Caravan 208b
ps found out my dad flew a Cessna 152 on many occasions guess that's why I like the Cessna's
