Hello allinone - I would imagine that all caravan parks in Gunnedah and surrounds would be booked out. You probably would find a free camp somewhere - you would need to check the campsite book though. All accommodation is at a premium at this time as you could imagine. The traffic alone coming into Gunnedah is one LONG line coming from all directions - parking at the site is really well done these days though. Hope this helps - Happy camping.
Lake Keepit caravan park is close enough for the day. It has limited powered sites but unlimited bush camp sites. They usually open the show grounds but not sure if they still do. There is a rest area just outside gunnedah but I would not leave my van there alone. If you arrived really really early you could take the van in. Failing all that its close enough to stay in Tamworth and drive out for the day.
Made it to Caroona Hall camps 6 #387 tonight, nice little overnight rest stop. No one else here. Off to Agquip in the morning and may head for Lake Keepit tomorrow night then back to Wednesday/Thursday before heading south again. There is free parking and free entry at Agquip so looks like all will be covered during the day.
Thanks for theses tips....
