Barraba Caravan Park.

We just had four great days at the Barraba Caravan Park which is approximately 90k's north of Tamworth. We were greeted by Bob Richardson the owner/operator and warmly welcomed. The park is situated at the northern end of the town on the Manilla River. There are quite a few powered sites with water but no slabs. The park is well grassed and has very clean amenities, laundry and camp kitchen. If the park is not busy you can choose your own site. Rates are $20 per night with discount if you have a multiple night stay. Bob is a great host and is always up for a chat and a joke. The town has a great bakery, 2 butchers and a couple of pubs. There is also a Bowling Club with a Chinese restaurant and a RSL. The town  has a council operated dump point.

You can visit the Split Rock Dam and Glenriddle Reserve easily from Barraba and Glenriddle Reserve is particularly beautiful. There is free camping and very clean toilets but nothing else.

Bingara is about 50-60k's to the north and restored Roxy Theatre is well worth seeing. There is a lovely cafe/restaurant in the building. The Imperial Hotel serves a great steak.

We would thoroughly recommend the Barraba Caravan Park.

Cheers

I agree. We had a few days there last year and had a great site backing on to the fence at the river. The chinese feed from over the road was also the best we had.
Totally recomened it.
