Jerico River camping

Hi all - half way through our maiden voyage and  presently at Ilfacombe east of Longreach - interested in reports on Jerico River from anyone who has camped there recently. Sick of lugging 2 kayaks across QLD and with the exception of one place, they have not seen a drop of water ..... plenty of dust, plenty of road kill and  flies, but no water! Any alternate ideas for boatable water between here and NSW border during the next 6 weeks??

Thanks

Gday...

Jericho camp on the Jordan River (not the Showgrounds) is a very good camp - donation, flushing toilets, cold showers.

I don't kayak but the river is pretty good and you should be able to launch and paddle quite a fair way.

A couple of photos to give some idea.

Cheers - John

Your Kayaks sound like my golf clubs - I have found weather cool enough to play in here at Yanchep but now it is raining!!!!! Us Kiwis are winter golfers..... and after the endless warm summer I have been travelling - -- well that is my excuse for not playing!

Sometimes you get a bit of water in the Barcoo at Isisford, a good little free camp though
