Barkly Highway

Well - tomorrow we move on into Northern Territory!!!!  Have had a great trip across from Townsville, free camping most of the way.  Macrossen Park - great spot as usual, Campaspe River - where we met another GN - MSG (Mel and Molly), who decided to travel on with us.  Hughenden RV Camp ($6 night) - Richmond RV Camp - free with dump point and rubbish bins.  Cloncurry - two nights in the Oasis Caravan Park ($30pn), called in at Clem Walton Dam, hoping to meet up with Oldboar from this site, but he had gone into town to get things to fix a gas leak, but what a great spot!!!  On to Cammoweal - and the Billabongs - huge area with a lot of great spots to set up camp - some down by the water, some closer to the main road, very quiet.  Staying two nights, Mel and I have been checking out the beautiful stones all around us.

Ribbon Stone is found around this area, and a lot of the stones aroundabout have definite ribbon markings - some of the colours are beautiful.

Hope to get to Wonarah Bore #3 Camps 7, tomorrow, after filling the water tanks in town (water here is the best in Australia, we have been informed), and using the dump point.

Having a really good trip!!!!

Be prepared for very high fuel prices at Barkley & three ways.

I used to fill at the Isa & go right  through to Tennant creek, give them the miss.
