Hi Jules, thought I would leave you a message here, due to most people check out the General posts.
I have added a few other camping spots in the N/T section in budget section.
There is probably a lot of other places, but have not got my black book on me this trip where I have them stored (one day I will put them into my iphn App,but that's for another day and time.
Most of these camps are in N/Parks but up that way if you are not staying in a van park (average and expensive we found ) or out at the motor museum camped, these are your best options.
Regards Herbie

Thanks Herbie - probably won't be able to stay at the motor museum - there are two other vehicles with us, and besides there is a truck reunion thing there from 22nd to 25th August - (a friend of mine is being inducted) - we will find somewhere I am sure! I will check out the budget sub forum.
Enjoy your trip - where are you now?

We are in Tolgo at the moment, Have to hang around this area, due to the kids arriving in Cairns Thursday...but some times one has to do what you got to do some times. Have a beaut trip and enjoy it all.
Have stayed at Mary Kathleen a couple of times - very interesting - even met the owner of the whole area, interesting bloke!
You can stay at the dam across the road (Clem Walton) as well - but apparently it is empty at the moment, and 4wders have chopped up the roads in, so closed for now.

Not true, Jules. We're presently camped at Corella Dam which is the dam section adjacent to Clem Walton Park, which unfortunately is very dry at the moment. The dam is brilliant, albeit not as much water as normal but definitely presently being enjoyed by more than thirty vans, motorhomes, etc each night for the past ten nights. Been cruising the water each one of those ten days (hopefully for the next four as well) in my little inflatable trying to catch a feed.

Yes Jules, the closed double gates marked Clem Warton Park. Once in, if you follow the first fork to the Park, rather than the boat ramp fork, then at the next turn right rather than going through the Timburra gate, we're camped amongst the trees in the valley to the left of the track along the ridge.

Hey Darrell - we called in to Corella Dam this morning - but you had apparently gone into the Isa - looks a great spot - we will go there again for sure, next trip over this way. Didn't stay, needed to get into the Isa. Sorry we missed you guys!!! I take it the little cow patterned blow up boat is yours??
Currently at WW11 camp area about 50k NW of the Isa. Big area - couple of picnic shelters, toilets and a dump point - ok for an overnighter.

Sorry we missed you, Jules. Hoped to be back before you reached us but due to parts being required urgently to repair a gas leak had no choice but to head into town. Yep, the boat is ours, suits our purposes perfectly. Never mind, will run into each other sooner or later as we're on the road full time. Good news though, gas leak fixed, all systems operating normally again.
