Was reading in another thread van names such as George and Camilla. Did'nt want to get off track there so opened this topic.
When my mate and I get our buses we already have names for them. Mine is "Some where" and his is "I Dunno". These where sugested by my carer as we are always looking in the workshop for tools, drill bits, grinding wheels etc. Sue say we both loose our heads if not bolted on.
Any other nick names out there?
Peter

No, I'm not busy, I did it right the first time.
Self-powered wheelie walker, soon a power chair (ex. Nomad)
I figure all names get shortened eventually so I call mine PJ which stands for pride and joy. Pride cos it took forever to get my act together, and joy cos that's what I hope get from travelling Oz.

Ours isn't named, my partner objected to "The Palais"!!
Have seen some really witty names on rigs, one had "Mover" on the Tug and "Shaker" on their caravan.
haven't got a name for the van, that will come in time I think......but the vehicles are referred to as his child (the Prado) and my child (the little Mazda) mine's often referred to as "the baby" so far I haven't had to get up in the middle of the night and walk the floor like I remember with the original babies!! cheers Capricorn

Geez that's a lot nicer than what my little Mazda2 gets called Capricorn... Himself reckons that compared to his Prado its just a speed hump, so he calls it "Humpy"
I've seen a couple of beauties in our towns..."Boilers on the Run" and "Awayawhile". Our "George" has a great heritage and therefore will be cared for like his namesake...(except nappies I hope.)

Didn't do a deep think on naming the caravan, "she" is a Coromal Magnum and we just call her Maggie. Our tow vehicle (Toyota Hilux) we call "The Big Mother", and my Toyota Corolla is named Sophia. When we bought her I said she had a nice rear, and her colour is Positano Bronze, so she was named after Sophia Loren, to keep the Italian flavour. Looking forward to getting away again with Maggie in tow before too much time elapses. Cheers, Annie
Howdy all, Mobi Condo is the name of the van. We went from most of our lives in tents, swags and backs of HI ace Vans etc. to a 19' BushTracker which was like a Mobile Condominium by comparison to our previous lot. Hence Mobi Condo.
Cheers - Mobi (AKA Ian & Sally)

I slowly realise as I get older that I am definitely NOT the fastest rat in the race.
Also the older I get the more I realise I do not know.
Ours is "quo vadis" means "where are you going?" It's got a nice ring to it and is a reminder of the yacht we hired for Stuey's 60th a couple if years ago.
My Landcruiser was Rosy. I stuck red rose stickers on her fenders because she's a girl's truck - the feminine touch. So it stuck. Then I remembered it was an abbreviation of my maiden name, so it really did fit.
Roma is the caravan because she is.
You'll note it's a girls' team.
Now the Mercedes Sprinter is the corporate executive suite, called Motel Mercedes to those who remember how I used to travel. To her friends she's "Betty Benz".
Cruising Granny will always be me.
While you're on the road, check out other labels for tugs and vans, and then the trucks. Some of them are the driver's autobiography I think. Food for thought.

I thought "Camilla" might be a good name for our old girl, been round the block a few times, multiple owners, been tarted up in recent years, looks good (if you don't look to close) and not everyone loves her but she does the job.
We used to live on acreage, and spent most weekends mowing the property. It was, therefore, a no-brainer when the van came along, that it would be called "Dunmowin". The Irish boyfriend of a friend of ours told us that "Dun" in Irish means Castle or Fort, and "Mo" or "Wen" means in or near. So with that in mind as well, we feel that "Dunmowin" is really fitting.
We have always had names for our vehicles - motor bikes called Suzie (suziki) and Kaye (BMW K100), the previous 4WDs being Jack - and Jack - both Jackaroos. Our current Nissan Patrol is Blue, so we call it Blue.

DUNMOWIN is no longer on the road and still DUNMOWIN!
I saw a campervan with "Mini-Bagow - Bed And Grub On Wheels" painted on the front, which I thought was very clever. Haven't named mine yet, maybe never will as I never named cars, and much as I like Mini-Bagow I don't want to plagiarise.
