Just a to let you know we've arrived in Texas on the Queensland NSW border... I think we might stay a few days, this place looks great and we're not alone, there are many travellers here sitting next to the river :) Am very tired as I had a rough night.... blocked nose! not good when your on a cpap machine... so I may call it an early one tonight, if it's real sunny tomorrow I shall get back on here :) Hope your all doing well :)
We were in Texas last year a great stop over lso if you go into town you can have a hot sower there I think you pay a gold coin donation Enjoy it we hop to be going that way again next year.
I stayed one night at the river at Texas on my way down last summer. There was a good crowd camped there, not sure if there was anything interesting to see as allinone mentions. Some ideas would be good and I will go back there again.
Yes there are hot showers in the main street behind the toilets, didn't see anywhere to leave a donation. The damp point is a few streets back at the local council yards.
We found the showers and had a lovely one this morning :) Drove around the area as well and found this place to be real peaceful, the people are friendly and the rive is lovely... we're going to stay a few more days to soak up the sun and catch up with everyone at home.... I don't mind just sitting for awhile without having to see things, I don't think there are too many tourist spots around here but then again we have not really looked hard..... I am however going to go for a long walk along the river with my camera to take photos of birds thats if I get close to any....
we found the shops to be reasonable same with the fuel... a real nice spot!
