Just out of interest

The question was asked in the first post for 3 likes and 3 dislikes. It doesn't mean we are complaining.

For those that travel full time or long term,

The three things you love the most about nomad life and the three you detest the most.

1 following the nice weather

2 not having to plan ahead

3 being able to live where you want, when ever you want. FREEDOM.

Three things we detest,

1 Tenter campers on the next site that enchroach all their crap onto our site.

2 noisy uncontrolled kids anywhere near us

3 wizzbangers with sliding doors that for some reason need to get in and out of their van 20 times a day more than normal and slam the door. Either get in or out.

I'm a partime nomad, but love to get out there as often as I can. Unfortunately, due to health issues, I've only had a week away this year.

What I love...

1/ clean country or sea air

2/ new places

3/ free camping with other GN's or family/friends

4/ road trips in general

What I dislike...

1/ Dogs roaming loose.

2/ People who have total disregard for anyone else

As full time nomads, I like (I won't speak for the boss!)

1. Seeing new places, especially beautiful scenery or historic buildings

2. Not having to maintain a house and garden

3. The freedom to go where we want, when we want

Dislikes:

1. Litter and rubbish anywhere

2. Noisy, inconsiderate people

3. Wet, cold weather

Wow! People where do you go to holiday and not find things that P you off, your own backyard. All the dislikes listed are part and parcel of holidaying away from home and most of us while not liking all the things others do have adopted the attitude that recognizes the rights of others to live their life the way they chose. Don't sweat the small things in life just go for it Life to short and no one ever escapes alive

I don't sweat the small stuff. I did say dislike, not hate. Although dogs roaming loose is closer to hate. winkbiggrin

We are all put on this earth as equals ..so a little bit of give and take helps to make a happy camper...We just move on if we don't enjoy our fellow campers company...What does annoy us is campers who whine about kids/ dogs generator noise ( when used inside respectable hrs )

If all these petty things annoy people ,probably best they find a rock and crawl under it.

It is not the dogs fault what they leave behind, it is the owners unresponsible behaviour.

Spot on. Sometimes I reckon GN stands for grumpy nomads.

Like getting out there and seeing this great country

Dislike intolerance.

Let's face it, we're not going to be on the same wavelength as everyone we meet or camp near, so just try to give others the space to enjoy their trip in their way, and focus on enjoying yours in your way.

 My thoughts exactly!

Despite the risk of being labeled a winger or Grumpy Old Fart (actually, I am a GOF)

As a part time nomad who doesn't free camp :

Like ..

1. A quiet campsite near 'kayakable' water

2. Views from the campsite

3. The Australian bush

Dislikes ..

1. Noisy neighbours.  (I try not to fall into this or the next category myself)

2. Unfriendly neighbours

3. Poorly maintained places (this includes paid CPs as well as 'self maintained' free stops)

But I do what I reasonably can, to change or ignore the annoyances ...  The dislikes are the same whether at home or on the road.  Funny that.

Good morning G Ns I now realise I will never be be a full time Nomad as I just get itchie feet, Love my small home in the suburbs, coming home to it and now with one month to go we will have the freedom of going almost when it pleases us.

With that freedom if I don't like something and can't help to change it I will now move on. I will not be locked in.

I believe I am still nomadic even if I am not on the road full time but I could change. Ralph

I love 1. Sitting round a campfire on a starry night. 2. The smell of meat barbecuing on hot coals. 3. Warm winter sun on your face in Qld. Dislike 1. Arrogance of some people. 2. Those who leave rubbish around the camp or bush. 3.Being parked on top of. Why do people park so close when there is plenty of room. In general I love this lifestyle - get out and do it peoples while the going is good.
