Hi Cruising Cruze

You'll need to install some resistors into a separate line out of the house batteries as it's own circuit.

For an exact explanation or probably somebody like Dorian would be able to give you good advice, try a PM.

Perhaps if you explained what you want to do (LED Lights I'm assuming) then there may be a much simpler method.

Yes indeed for led lights

I was just thinking maybe via an USB socket,
but I would not know how much I can pull out of that

got a set of bunnings ,they are prity handy was looking for 12 volt spotlights they are way to money

How can I get 4.5 volt out of my house battery

is there an easy way to get it ?

We will need to know Exactly what you wish to use 4.5V for

The   description  & Wattage of the device will be a good start

Reducing the voltage by means of resistors has limitations & in fact in some cases simply cannot do the job .

Get a cigarette lighter transformer with adjustable voltages,,,, Repco or Jaco etc.

Just set one up 12v to 9V for radio/cd player so wife doesn't have to buy batteries,,, output of mine is 1.5A

Have a trawl on the web, there are a number of companies that make direct replacements using a circuit board, "plug & play" but as you say, they ain't cheap!!

very soft light not disturbing when someone is reading a normal book beside you in bed
and enough to see clearly what's around you
in the meantime found a nice 3 watt spotlight by Jcar what i have to install now
