Hot water induced draft tankless water heater

Hi all who like hot water showers. Is anyone using the induiced draft tankless water heaters. I have read a little about this system but as usual experience is what counts. Also is it a feature in some caravans or are they always retro-fitted? What would be the approxiate costs assoaciated with the purchase and installation. Which brands / manufactureres are available in Australia. Is there a better system.

Cheers

Have a safe travelling week ahead

I have found it really good .

I've also been looking at small heaters and found the same Girad one as above but from an American supplier for half the Australian price!

We had the Girard Hot Water System installed in a new Traveller van that we had built last August.  It has proved very successful as we do not have to wait for the tank to reheat after all water has been used, and the gas is not being constantly on to keep a tank of water hot at all times. Good luck with your decision.

G'day wendycarlene.   I'm using one of the continuous (tankless) systems.  Same sort of thing as a household continuous.   It's so old that I can't read the brand anymore but works great.   Mine's an earlier system with a separate hot and cold taps and the pilot light needs to be running.   Newer systems can be set to a desired temperature, require only one tap and will auto ignite when turned on which negates the running of a pilot light thus saving gas.   Various brands on the market with a variety of sizes for boats, vans, flats and houses.  Most new (larger) vans, boats, m/homes seem to have one of the various continuous hot water systems fitted as standard.

For what it's worth.

I fitted a gas instant hot water system three years ago, love it, cheap/economical. no pilot light runs fron two D size batteries for ignition.

Use the search window & enter,,,, hot water on tap.

thanks everyone, all information is useful. Checked out the website of adventurerv for the Girad and it looks promising. What caravan manufacturers would agree to replace their standard water heater with this system and at what cost?

Is it better to do it at manufacture or after purchase?

I think it has to be at manufacture deconuts, too expensive getting things retrofitted.
