After a long time absent from the forum, Stella and I will be able to return home in the near future. We will be taking our van out of mothballs and returning to the road in a limited way until my strength and health fully returns. One of our old favourite places was Baffle Bobs Caravan Park at Baffle Creek, north of Bundy. I understand that the area was badly effected by the 2nd Queensland floods. Has anybody been in the area recently? If so is the fishing ramp still in action at the bottom of the caravan park. Fishing the Baffle Creek was my passion and whilst strongly criticised, Baffle Bobs was a laid back, reasonable priced park with limited facilities. We meet many great people whilst staying there and Bobs wife was one of the great hosts you meet when travelling. Any current info would be great.
Hi Tim & Stella, went to Baffle Bobs about 3 weeks ago, not baffle bobs anymore.New owners a lovely couple they have really cleaned the place up. Very friendly the park looking great and Yes boat ramp is still in action Severe lack of fish however but like boss said we would only have to clean them anyhow.Still a great pastime. Would recommend it to anyone. We left 1770 where prices are now ridiculous and packed in like sardines. I also believe they will do deals on extended stays.Karen and I hope to get up there again very soon , as only an hour from us at Bargara. We like the peace and quiet and the sign at front gate <SPEED LIMIT 10 KLM IF YOU DONT LIKE DONT DRIVE ANY FURTHER. says to me, they dont put up with any crap.Wouldnt have any hesitation in recommending this park to anyone. Hope this is a help regards .STEVO.
Great spot been there twice & had a ball on the flathead, 12 monsters in an hour. We heard it was sold as well, also we were there with another GN member when bobs partner had the stroke,
As this member didnt mind a bit of work they took over & ran the park untill she returned.
JC.
