A better FM radio antenna ?

The standard Jayco FM antenna & radio / CD we have is less than wonderful - as SWMBO likes ABC FM in the mornings, looking to install a higher efficiency antenna and a better radio. All suggestions appreciated.

Will putting an FM antenna on top of the TV antenna improve the FM reception ( yes I appreciate FM is reasonably short distance and quite directional transmission ) or will an FM antenna on the TV antenna just cause reception problems for both TV & radio ?

Thanks

UPO - Richard

I just unplug the TV aerial from the back of the TV and attach it to my portable all wave radio (Digitor PR-3DL) aerial with an alligator clip. This works OK for me - I figure in most country towns the FM transmitter probably uses the same tower as the TV transmitter. We also find we use the portable radio more often than the van unit as we can take it outside the van.
