Plug Connections (Tug to Trailer)

You'd be surprised how much dust and 5h1t gets into the plug connectors.

A good spray with an electrical connection cleaner does wonders for ensuring a good connection.

CRC spray or WD40 also works a treat and keeps the pins nice and clean ready for the next hook-up.

Never had a problem in 18000 kms round trip!
7 pin round.
Never sprayed, cleaned or found any dirt or gunk in connectors.
Is your connection loose fitting?

Good on ya Leevin hope it stays that way.

ME?

Nope........

Just gets a bit gunked up from time to time with red dust.

The post wasn't so much seeking help or advice, just passing on a little tip and reminding folk to carry out a little check every now and then, that's all!!

Good advice Mark.

Another tip is to check all trailer lights simultaneously. This can show up faults that aren't as obvious when checking individually, especially faulty earth wiring, a common cause of problems with trailer wiring.

Absolutely right, the wife reckons when I do a light check it's like "Las Vegas" strip at the back of the caravan!!  I do it to confuse her really, but she's too smart and all I ever get back is a "Roger Beep" on the two way!!
