Went there years ago and it truly was a magic place, but went back a few years ago and could not believe the place was the same place.
It was dirty/ messy/ over priced and what struck us was there was not one Australian working there, they all were back packers.
They must be like the ones now that work in the tourist info and sourvanier shops/cafes at Uluru N/t.
Tourists from O/S were saying to us how disappointed they were ,they thought they were going there to see the people who owned it working there and real Australians, not people from their own country working at our iconic tourist attractions
Would I ever return to these kind of places ...Never. .
Lietchfield N/ Park is better value and not as packed with people or that is how it was when we visited, maybe that has changed now also.

been there done that wont be back, passes a waste of money, campsites underrated and costly. Information centres to busy selling rather giving out good info. Very disappointed.
At least you can strike it off your bucket list Turts, as Daryl Sommers used to say in the ads for NT, "If you never, never go, you'll never, never know".
I've been there twice, enjoyed the early morning boat cruise on Yellow Waters, rock paintings etc, but that was some time ago.

We went a long time ago & loved it too.
I would go back again & look at the more difficult to get to areas & stay much longer.
On our visit Litchfield was by far the more crowded. More suitable for the less mobile visitors.
A flight over Arnhem Land was fantastic.

Been to Kakadu and loved it, most people that called it Kakadon't, when asked how long they spent visiting the park, the answer was, one day, which says it all.
Comparing Litchfield to Kakadu is wrong they are two entirely different parks to enjoy and experience.

Yes we went there 8 years ago and loved it and just been back there in June this year and still loved it and would go back again anytime , But we all like different thing and you don't know unless you look and has for back packer it wasn't something that I noticed
The Yellow waters sunrise trip was breathtaking. The guide on the boat was excellent and knew about the area. His love of the area showed through with the way he talked. I think if you look at the individual spots on their own you appreciate them more.
Twin Falls was pretty but it was more the trek you had to undertake to get there. If you could drive your car to a lookout and see it, you wouldn't appreciate it half as much.

We were there in 91, & it was called kakadont back then. Last time in Litchfield was 08, bus loads of overseas people on day trips & theives were knocking off their belongings from the busses as the were enjoying their swims. These things generally don't get any better.

Assuming that you are talking about the walk to the jetty at Yellow Water - We walked down there around dusk. Great sunset .. lots of strange noises too.
Put me on the list of kakadonts, apart from yellow waters the rest was a dump and I wont go back. Litchfield is a different story alltogether.
Cheers
