We have moved from Fowlers Bay.

After a week at Fowlers Bay were we had a great experience with whales we moved to Haslam where we had a great look around the area before heading for Streaky Bay. After doing the necessary replacement of the food cupboard we stopped off at Point Westall.  By the way the camping area ( #719) does not appear to exsist anymore or at least we could not find it. From here we had a look around the area, like Cape Bauer, blow holes, Tractor Beach, etc. This is a great little area so if you ever get to the Streaky Bay area take time out to be amazed. We head off for Sceale Bay, Murphy's Haystacks and then to Venus Bay for 2 or 3 days.

We are really stoked by this part of SA and will take our time to get back to Whyalla.  As far as we are concerned this state has got so much going for it, by the way we are not employed by the SA Tourism.  lol

Hi Brian, we have just left the area. Venus Bay a top spot, van park clean and tidy, access to  jetty, bagging out on the king George whiting and heaps of tommy ruff from just off the beach. The road into the sea lion colony for the last 14k is a real teeth rattler and under work. Not suitable to take your van on.

Check out the Streaky Bay pub for a meal or drink too, best community pub you'll see anywhere.

Sounds like you are really enjoying SA there Brian and Cheryl, good. I hope that you two and the girls are fine and all well. I am still in Townsville and will be for at least two more weeks then start heading south and Homewood bound for a couple of weeks then over to Batemans Bay for a while to do some house sitting.

Hi Doug, we are having a great time in SA. So much to see and do but as you know we are always going into the not so well known places and finding amazing sights. We will be on the Erye peninsula for at least another 6 weeks before getting back to Adelaide. Cheryl is going back to Tassy for a week to catch up with a sister so yours will stay behind with the dogs at a friends place and do some updates on the van like resetting the position of the Sat Dish to the rear of the van.

After she returns we should be heading into the Flinders Ranges for about a month then on into NSW where we will head for Byron Bay to catch up with another sister of Cheryl.

That will do for now but as usual quite often we change things on the run anyway so who knows.

Trust you have enjoyed you time in Townsville with family, etc.

Travel safe and you never know we may go back to Melb via Gippsland so we will keep you up todate.

Cheryl said to say Hi and of course the Molly and Angel say woof.

Take care

Brian and Cheryl

Hi bent axle Bob,

The oyster sellers are on the left as you drive into smoky bay ,in industrial units. They bring the trailers in about 10.30am. So you buy oysters straight out of the water.

Like you, we searched for the Point Westall site, and like you, found it no longer exists.  We did, however, camp right out on the cliffs at Point Westall.  Ocean to the east, to the south and to the west.  amazing experience.  Our rig was too big for Tractor Beach. Did you drive around to "Fisherman's Paradise"?  Wondering if next time I visit, will it be disappearing under the shifting sand dunes.

Hi briche,

We went south from Streaky bay last year and stay at 'Walker's Rocks' NW of Elliston.  Almost missed the sign as it is only small BUT it was a lovely place to stay.  Toilet (1) and a COLD shower available,

We then wandered down to Port Lincoln.  Loved the area and intend on going back.
