"The Presidio".   Sean Connory and I think Kevin Costner and Meg Ryan starred in the Movie.

Cheers,

Hi all Well after a 4.5 day internet drought due to rv parks limiting free wifi things are looking up this afternoon. Tomorrow not sure we move on from here. We left cedar city and went to Lee Vinning very nice place near lake mono. The next day we headed for Yosemite park.....OMG!!!!!!! What a drive, magnificent views and we got up to 9000ft and just stunning but narrow roads and busy place was packed and HUGE!!!!! We stopped at a few spots for the wow moments of hills, valleys, little waterfalls. We finally got to a point where we parked and got a bus around for a while, just amazing, hotels, cabins, tents you name it, it is here. Finally left to come out the other side and that was just as hairy!!!!!!!!. Found a park at Mariposa for the night and were surround by forest and lovely green trees. Left the next morning for San Francisco and could only find a place to stay about 35mls north of sf. Lovely town called Petaluma. We planned 3 nights here so got a local bus the next morning into sf left 7.30am and the bus was full. Made a few stops and took 1.5hrs. We were picked up by on off bus people for the Alcatraz tour but were to late so missed out, so they gave us a free bay cruise which was lovely and then spent the day wandering and got on the on off buses for some sightseeing. Went over the Golden Gate bridge several times and over to Sausalito, pretty place and Presidio the us used to have army base there. Finally got the 7pm bus to come back got home very tired at around 9.30. Next day to try and get Alcatraz tickets we drove 1 van in left 7am. You can park vans for $33 per day at fisherman's wharf. We cooked our own breaky in car park, then as we were on standby for tickets we missed out again!!!!!!!!! So spent the day on different on off bus route and the cable cars even the switch back sts had a walk down and back up!!!!!!!!! Has this old girl done some damn walking!!!!!!, Had lunch at fisherman's wharf late and bits of shopping and headed home in peak hour traffic and prang on the hwy took maybe 1.5hrs. In order to try and get tickets for Alcatraz for tomorrow we wil ldrive both vans in early and try again, shame to come all this way and miss it. If no luck we head for Los Angeles about 8hrs away, so we aim to stop about half way and get vans ready to hand back Friday. A lot say I know but we have been bloody busy.....but had fun and seen lots.
