Camper hot water system

Currently we have a Hansen 240VAC hot water system in our Avan Cruiser. Of late, it's been making noises as it heats....bubbling noises, which it has never done in the past. I did a GOOGLE on Hansen heaters and found some negative results due to their alloy insides corroding. Back to GOOGLE and I found this advert for a Duoetto 10 litre 12v/240v HWS.  We only use the HWS for washing up but the 12V option on this Duoetto heater could make it suitable for free camping.

Anyone have any comments?

Many thanks

Denis

If your only looking for hot water to wash up then there is a tap mixer with a built in 12 volt heater   Watsons Caravans had them at the Wauchope Caravan Show last year  Much cheaper  than 379.

Thanks Wombat - that would be a better idea except that the mixer tap has to be a fold down type due to the design on the sink. I'll check them up - maybe they are low profile that will fit under the sink cover when it's down.   A new Hansen is about $795 plus freight which I do not think would be a good idea.

Regards
