I have found heaps of information about how to-- connect/disconnect/activate the stabiliser/anti theft/replacing friction pads--- and claims they are the best in the world, but nothing on how to deactivate the brakes so you can reverse the van uphill. I tried lifting the lever to the first notch but this didn,t help.
This is my first post since joining you lot so no doubt someone will come back with a reply along the line of "dopey d--k it,s that big red button that says REVERSE"
Well, I haven,t found it and I know German engineering wouldn,t overlook this basic necessity.
This coupling is on our giest ak595. it,s our 3rd. van and we are very happy with it
Have enjoyed reading articles on this site and hope to be able to contribute for the benifit of others in the future.
Hi Jonno
I have a Geist 660 Xlusive with the same set up as you have mentioned. There is nothing special about the braking system and no special buttons to push.
I did have trouble once, but being a newie I had forgotten to release the handbrake on the van
Cheers
Ben
