"Biggles Mk1" has been found ..

Hi guys ..

Well .. the missing glider has returned to the fold ..

It just so happened that a friend of mine up here was travelling down a road about 1.5 k's from the Rodeo Grounds when he saw a council truck parked just off the road in a paddock.

A few workers were there also .. he saw my plane on the back of their truck and recognised it immediately.

after doing a U-turn he went back and spoke with the guys who happily gave it to him after hearing his story. He then headed back here to the Park and caught up with me this afternoon ..

Apart from the plane lying upside down for a few weeks, it is totally undamaged .. We've had no rain and so it seems the electrics appear to be in excellent condition too. (will check it out in the morning)

They had come across it in an open paddock which had nothing in it but long grass and occasional bushes which was enough to overturn it as it landed ..

I do have my controls set so that if I did have an incident of this sort, that my planes will gradually glide in wide circles 'til down .. and the design of the plane is appropriately suited to do so .. (see pics)

After buying a lotto ticket tomorrow, I will take steps to preparing it again for more flying .. and anticipating a name-change from "Biggles Mk1" to either "Lazarus" or "The Phoenix"

cheers .. Jon

Hi Jon

Thats great news to hear you recovered Biggles. I have a question isnt it bad luck to change the name

, or does that only apply to boats/ships ?

Regards

Ashley

Well Biggles is growing up, off to sow some wild oats, now home to brag to his mate red barron.

Dymo tape or similar is good to use Jon and doesn't come off easily.....after my adventures with my mobile phone and glasses I now have them marked with it on the phone and glasses cases.

I was thinking about sticking some to myself they way I am losing things these days, but maybe just a tag on me like they do with small kids might do the trick furious
