Ok then so we meet again, as the saying goes, "We will have to stop meeting like this".
To start of with you might remember in my last update I had visited 'Maggi'. Magnetic Island that is and said I would include pics of that trip in this update, so a few selected pics are attached for those interested.
I took myself off to the movies again last Tuesday and this time saw 'World War Z', the one with Brad Pitt, this was another science fiction type movie with plenty of action and special effects, not the best movie I have seen but not the worst, geee cheap Tuesday at the Flicks is a great idea and I tell you that for free. My hero has arrived from planet krypton so I will catch up with him this week.
I found myself on the sick roll for a couple of days mid week, not sure what the problem was just a bit down and unwell basically but back on track again now so all is ok.
Having said that though I decided to still meet up with 'GST' Greg and his wife Ruth for lunch on Thursday at a Irish Pub here in Townsville, well actually a suburb, Thuringower, to be sure to be sure. Great lunch with great people. Thanks Greg and Ruth. I think the pint of Guinness I had helped with whatever was wrong with me as I started to come good Saturday and was taken off the sick roll.
Speaking of Saturday I got a phone call from 'Hako', Denis and his lovely wife Joy. We finally got to meet during the afternoon and had a great chat, thanks Denis and Joy for a nice afternoon. I'm sure we will cross paths again soon.
Now Sunday I got another phone call, this time from 'Nomadic 1' Lynda saying she was just a tad south of Townsville parked up at Alligator Creek so I headed down for a visit and chat, another good meet with a nice person, thanks Lynda, we will catch up again about mid week when she is just a tad north of Townsville. Is there any not so nice people on this great forum. I reckon it would be hard to find one if there is one.
Not much will be done today, Monday as it is a public holiday here in down town Townsville (show day weekend) and you can't work on a public holiday. There was also a very large, motor home rally in the area, a large motor boat race (big buggers too) Saturday and Sunday and school holidays so heaps of people around and busy busy busy. I reckon the best place to be was off the road really. This weekend will be busy as well as the V8 Super cars have hit Townsville for the 'Townsville 400' so another big and fast moving weekend.
The weather gods have been extremely kind to us all yet again, 26+ during the days and 11-12 overnight's with good humidity, not bad at all, my thanks to the weather god's. Sorry to all those down south.
Phew, this is hard out here in the playground.
Ok then, that's it for this week.

Good to see you are feeling better Doug - and to see the pics of Maggi as well. We were in and around Townsville last year at this time, and indeed very busy place.
Happy to see you doing your tour operator/meeter and greeter duty well!
We hope to be leaving for Central Oz on Thursday - probably a night saying goodbye to daughter, picking up Solo Steve and heading off!!!! Woohoo - won't be back in Qld till February next year!!

Hi Doug am currently at St Lawrence and deciding when to set off to Townsville, reading your comments I am inclined to dawdle up there and arrive well after next weekend.
Another good report there Dougwe, I will have to get up that way soon, I have often read about it ?? But your reports have confirmed it is an absolute Must ?? Stay well mate ! you have not got time to be crook Ok ?
Yes there is Dougwe, ?? but you would have to go across the Nullabor to find him, If you do cross the Nullabor from down South ?? wait until you get to Norseman ?? and then start looking for lots of Holes in the ground ??? then you will be getting close to meeting him ??
I also recognized Bill12's hairy arm. I think those wallabies must know him. Isn't that the same one, holding your hand, that held Brandt's hand last year?

Hope that you feeling better now,
John
I reckon any time after next Monday 8/6 John would be fine.
Public schools go back then but the private schools get another week but shouldn't cause a problem.
I'm actually thinking of heading to Jourama Falls in a couple of weeks for a couple of days maybe.
See you when you get here John.

Thanks for the update and pics, Doug. Maggi looks nice. I have fond memories of Townsville and am looking forward to being up that way again sometime. Weather on the mid north coast of NSW is wet, wet, wet but is forecast to improve in the next day or two.
You can see my hairy( well muscled) arm feeding the wobblys, woops ,wallabys. They have quockas at Rottnest, we have wobblys here om Maggie.Lots of other wildlife about, but thankfully, no wombats.perhaps Dougwe wants to be the star. See ya soon, Bill
Thanks for the info Peter but wombats are causing major problems around here and I think they have left things laying around as my feet are getting a bit itchy.
