I may have missed some post but has anybody heard from the 2nd and 3rd prize winners in regards to thanking Cindy for running the comp and Steve for judging the comp or thanking for their prizes ?

If I have missed their post can somebody point me in the right direction as to where it is please.

1st place was Cattle in the yards by Peter & Margret http://thegreynomads.com.au/lifestyle/competitions/cattle-yards/

2nd place was Dust in the Mist by Bigbird http://thegreynomads.com.au/lifestyle/competitions/dirt-in-the-mist/

3rd place was Dust Storm near Broken Hill by Hams http://thegreynomads.com.au/lifestyle/competitions/dust-storm-near-broken-hill/

Once again congratulations to the winners and thank you to Cindy and Steve.

2nd and 3rd place may have contacted Cindy direct and not through the forum.

I cant find the 3rd placegetters photo!confuse "search" didn't help.

2nd placegetter was Hams, who hasn't been on the forum since they posted their entry. no  Ah well.

I take your point Wombat, and I can see Cindy's too, its a dilemma. This is an open forum, and that's the way we found it and liked it.  Maybe an "open" section, as well as a limited one for members with a certain length of membership, or certain number of posts??

Can't find 3 rd place getters photo either, went over them 3. times.
I find that very strange.
As you say Gerty Hams posted only once, the day he joined and only to enter the comp. Hasnt posted since. IMO he should have been disqualified. Anyone who joins after the comp is announced should not be allowed to participate. It's that easy.
The reason I didn't submit any photos this time is because the same thing happened last time.

The second place getter Bigbird has been a member for two years. So good to see a post from him (or was it her? I can't remember)

Hi everyone,
Just a quick note to let you know that all three of our prize winners were happy with the prizes they won and they were also quick to thank us ... and our judge ... for the competition itself in private emails.  We hope that our photo competitions encourage members and people who may like to become members to join in and perhaps discuss others' entries or their own photos and how and where they were taken.  As with all our competitions, this one was keenly contested with many fantastic entries and heavy voting.  I hope everyone enjoyed it and that you all keep snapping in preparation for our next big event.

I thought that may have been what happened, but they did post their pics on a open forum and IMHO they should have thanked Cindy & Steve in the same manner.

I have been slow to realise that a lot of people read The Grey Nomads web-site without joining or even looking at the forum.

No worries. Thanks for the clarification Cindy.
