I have been told that there is a book that details free camp sites and lists those which have restrictions on generators etc. Can anyone point me in the right direction as to where to get a copy please?
Google "Camps Australia Wide" for online purchase (also suggest Caravan Parks Australia Wide by same people), if the NRMA have them you should be able to get members discount. Also Dymocks sell them, 10% discount for seniors....
The Camps Australia Wide - eg Camps 7 - is a very good source of places to stay overnight or longer. However, it doesn't show which are "generator-friendly" or otherwise.
I have not found one that does so yet
Cheers - John

My understanding is that the majority of Bush Camps or Free Camps are Generator friendly. Reason is that most of these people also have gennies. Of course this may not be the case in National Parks.
I always tell my neighbours that we have a gennie, and most times they say no warries, as we also will be starting ours up.
I recently purchased a book of free campsites through the On The Road magazine - it seems to be very comprehensive - not sure about the generator part though - happy camping
