some great places - we were at these July/Aug/Sept last year: Quilpie-Lake Houdraman, Eidsvold- Waruma dam, Barcaldine -Lloyd Jones Weir, Blackwater-Bedford weir, Gayndah-Claude Wharton weir (only a few sites), Near Harvey Bay-Lenthal Dam, Surat -river camp, Oma waterhole(can't remember the name of the town), Theodore Favourite was Theodore - 500mts to town, hot showers, good water, lovely river all for a donation - also loved Bedford Weir.

We stayed at Glebe Weir, near Taroom, recently - powered sites for $7 night, flushing toilets, bore water is available, no drinking water though. Fishing in the weir, and in the holes down the creek. Good spot. Don't know if there is a publication or web site specifically for dams though.

Glebe weir is now dry. Apparently the Qld water mob pumped it out.
Locals didn't seem too impressed.
