Welcome to the forum Rice1granny We have a Hyland hitch on our van. No problems, except it can be a bit tricky to lift the T-bar handle to get it onto the tow-ball. Tow-ball has to have a longer shank. They claim that the ability of the hitch to swivel would prevent the tug from rolling if the caravan rolled. We haven't tested this!
Welcome from me too Graham and Helen, enjoy here and out in the playground. I don't know anything about the hitch you are asking about but the Mc Hitch is a goody and no rele to the golden arches.

I have a Treg hitch on my rig that doesn't foul against the spare tyre (Pajero/Goldstream). It may or may not be an alternative to the Hyland which I'm not familiar with.
I'm with Dougwe with the McHitch . I use one to connect my A frame to tow my Suzuki. Never happy with standard tow balls and the McHitch has Two components to lock the tow vehicle to the towed vehicle/trailer/caravan. It also has a 360 degree of rotation. Much more secure and I would think that it would be an ideal hitch for the Pajero.
Check out the McHitch website and see how it would go for your needs.
Hi there, I had this problem with the Pajero and there is a modification to the spare wheel which lifts it up some 3/4centimtres. It was enough to clear the tow bar handle on our rig using a Hayman Reece hitch. It would depend how high your towbar handle is I guess, but it might be worthwhile to check it out from a Mitsi dealer.

Thank you to all who have welcomed us to the forum. The spare has already been lifted but is not the spare that is hitting, the door itself is the problem. Am sure the ball shank is extended. I also do not intend to see if the car will stay on all fours if we should loose the van to a very strong wind which causes it fall over.
Thanks again for comments much appreciated.
