Can anyone help me with a problem I have with my Uniden 088 UHF unit in my vehicle.
The radio receives transmissions but when it comes time to transmit, the radio gives out a ": beep beep beep" etc until the micropone button is released.
Don't know for sure, but I read on the user manual that when a multi "Beep" is heard it indicates that the set is programmed to Cell Call, (direct connection to another user) just check your settings, or, set it back to factory standard and start again.

.Hey Loopy,as Mark states YES its your cell call.Press the memory button for about 1-2 seconds and it should illeviate it. Failing that download the user manual on line by googling Uniden 088 and you can dowload the whole manual and it will also supply you with other remedies.... Have fun
