CanCooker is an updated version of the old cream can which was used by farmers/ranchers to cook a hot, hearty and homemade meal while everyone worked. CanCooker cooks with steam so its healthy. Each recipe includes twelve or more ounces of liquid which the heat source turns to steam.
Look forward to it David .... Yamba is a great place, we were camping at Brooms Head recently and went to Yamba for a drive and lunch .... The view from the Pacific pub is spectacular looking out over the Ocean. They had 4" of rain last month in a couple of hours .... Whilst in Brooms Head , we only had 6 1/2" ... Great fun. Have not been to Griffith but as we have relatives in Bemboka, we will no doubt have it on the trip itinerary when next down there.
happy cooking .....
When Beryl was working as relief Facility Manager at the Yamba Nursing Home, I used to visit the Pacific Hotel every day. It was walking distance from our (paid for) $700/week apartment at The Cove. Great $10 lunch specials, great Ocean views and great folk music in the beer garden every Sunday afternoon. I loved Yamba. Did you find the $5 fish & chips at the Fish Cooperative? And the floating fish shop in the Marina? Wooli Oysters are the best I have ever come across.
I learnt a lot about Pasta and Pizza at Griffith (NSW). My favourite Café was La Tavola and I had the $10 lunch Pasta special a couple of times a week. Great fun to see the Pizza Chef throwing the spinning Pizzas into the air. Beryl was relief Director of Nursing at the Nursing Home and we had a paid for apartment five minutes from the Home.
West flaming Wyalong is not quite in the same class as the above. Where Beryl is relief General Manager of the Nursing Home with a 3 bedroom house provided foc. Of the many Hotels in the main street I have made a nice discovery in Wyalong a few kms up the road, the Top Town Tavern has a huge Fire Pit out the back and the owner is a camp oven man and drover. Great meals put out by a Sri Lankan Chef. $12 lunch specials every day including a dozen Oysters Kilpatrick on Wednesday - yes a dozen for $12!
In case you are wondering, I am the Home Duties person, cook, taxi driver and Professional Shopper. Unfortunately West flaming Wyalong has no Coles or Woolies, but an IGA Superstore. So far we have not found any other grocery shop at all, so I do a daily shop in IGA picking up many bargains!
The campervan with its Grey Nomads stickers is hardly lived in, although we do have weekend trips away exploring. From Griffith we headed to Victoria and discovered the delights of Echuca and had a trip on the Murray on a Paddle Steamer - bliss!
Must go - Beryl has just come hone from a meeting with her Regional Manager (7.55pm).

Umm, maybe not, just checked out the videos, still needs heat source throughout the cooking period? So many different types of cooking systems available now, its rather mind boggling!
still, looks interesting .....
maybe an section in the camp oven get together to cater and demonstrate all the different cooking systems?

Kingsthorpedavid - I get the impression you like your food......all your posts are about cooking! The above looks interesting, but yet another thing that takes up space.
