Port Macquarie

We are thinking of having a week or so at Port Macquarie, leaving here (Sydney) in late June. We haven't been there for about 20yrs so have no idea what to expect.

We need some advise on what caravan park to stay at. I hope someone can give us some advise. After there we may head up to Yamba for a week. Any advise is welcome and thanks in advance.

Hi Pam
We stayed at Dunbogan Caravan park near Laurieton which was quiet and close to the water. The owner will come out and put you into your site with his tractor as the roads are quite narrow. My sister really enjoys the caravan park at Lighthouse beach it is designed for over 50's. If you are going to be up Yamba way I can recommend Solitary Islands Marine Park Resort in Wooli near Grafton. Top spot, just loved it there so much we stayed 2 months. Good luck and have safe travels and an enjoyable time.

Another park to look at would be Laurieton Gardens Caravan Resort, Pam. We were going to stay there last month but had a last-minute house-sitting request, so spent the month at Redbank (about 20 km east of Port M.). The monthly Riverwalk Market near there is well worth a visit.

By the time you get up here we'll be at Wauchope (mid-June to mid-July), so if you'd like to meet for a cuppa let me know.

Andrea

Thank you both for your replies. We didn't give Laurieton a thought but it sounds good rather than PM . Will check out both suggestions. We haven't set a date yet but hopefully it will be after the school holidays mid July . Would love to have a coffee with you Andrea. I will let you know when we are in the area.
