Jayco Conquest Battery Charger

After a week of chasing flat batteries have finally cured the problem hopefully! Found an Auto Elect in Griffith NSW that new what was going on the minute I told him what was going on. It appears that the Jayco fitted power supply/battery charger just dosnt cut the mustard. It is fitted half way down the van with about 10m of 5mm cable back to the batteries with massive voltage drop. Getting a heavy duty charger fitted under bed with the batteries. Really the problem only arose because of lack of sun for a few days and therefore no solar charge. It seems to be a common problem with Jayco MH's .

Even when you get a good charge into the batteries with a better charger you are still going to have troubles. That p155 cable from the batteries to the Setec power supply will have a lot of voltage drop along it. If you are going to run more than a light or two from your battery I suggest you replace it with something heavier.

You got that right PeterD. I am looking at replacing that and also in running a much heavier cable from the vehicle alternator to the batteries as well for the same reason. Makes you wonder who designs these things, engineers or accountants.
