I have attached the photo as promised, mow hen I look at it it looks olthan n it is, we use it often and it works great, we get about 40 continuos hours out of a 4kg bottle. A couple of hours at a time it seems to last forever.
The new units look a lot prettier but do the same job. Good luck

Wow, thankyou all so much for the pics and help, any wonder I love this forum, such great people and advice when you need it.
Poppy....That is one big looking heater, I think it will heat up my little Avan in seconds but there is one big problem that I can see, the heater combined with the gas bottle in the Avan wouldn't leave any room for me and I will freeze outside anyway.
Denis and Jim...That looks a bit more like the size.
I have been told there is some sort of camping show in Townsville over the weekend $10 admit. So I will take myself and the grandkids along for a look see on Sunday. Their mum and dad can stay home :)

Doug be aware of the dangers of operating these heaters inside the van as they are not flued. In the confined space of a van, especially little units like yours and mine, carbon monoxide can build up to dangerous levels and do so quite insidiously. They should only be used in a well ventilated environment.
I'm interested in one too, that's why I looked up the link. I already have a "Mr Heater Little Buddy" http://www.anaconda.com.au/Product/Camp-and-Hike/Heating/Little-Buddy-Heater that runs off a propane gas cartridge. It's quite compact but is expensive to feed if run for any length of time. I use an electric heater when I'm on a powered site.
Aldi have a nice compact 1800w ceramic heater coming up next week for $20 - also BigW have something similar in their current catalogue for $60. We are investigating, as it got down to 9.5 degrees in the Aliner at Pottsville this week. As they are 240v, only suitable on powered sites - too big for inverters on a standard Aliner battery.
Regards, Brian

Brian....I already have a little oil column heater for when hooked up to 240v and is great and safe but for same reasons you mentioned can't use if free camping unless I let gene out.
