Bucasia bechfront Resort

Finally home and on computer. For some reason,

hubby's ipad will not let me start a new topic

On way home we called into Bucasia Beachfront Resort.

NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Resort it was NOT in any sense of the word.

Rundown is what comes to mind. Should really be called

Midgie Resort. Nearly got carried away by the little blighters.

Still scratching two nights later even though we were covered

in Aeroguard.

Tis now $40.00 per night.

Stayed in much nicer places for much less.

New Owners though, so hopefully they will clean up the place

Sorry to hear about another disappointing stay at a well established park.

On a positive note to control midges use Aeroguard Tropical or any brand that contains DEET. DEET is the only thing that will protect from midge and mozzies.

I'm still choking on that $40 per night......

Deet is harmless if used correctly but does upset eyes if you get it in them.

I'm unaware of DEET being banned anywhere in the world.

The US Environmental Protection Agency registered DEET for public use in 1957.
It re-assessed it in 1998 to ensure that it meets modern safety standards and concluded that it is very safe when used as directed.

Fact is it has been in use for 50 years and over 7 billion people have used it. Sounds like a pretty good record to me.

I think you will find that in America ,Deet is not used in products that humans use.

Some people are allergic to DEET - an ex member from here was in a terrible state from midge bites, was given something with DEET, and ended up worse than before - swollen legs etc., ruined her holiday in Darwin.

I was talking to an x work mate from working on the Rigs over in Texas about the Deet thingo and he was saying the reason we were not allowed to use it was it has been known to being on siexures and including even deaths. The Toxicity also for cold water fish and showen to be toxic to some fresh water fish.Canada bannned the use for humans that contained more than 30% of DEET  in 2002.
