Yes .. its not for everyone, I suppose .. I find that I can afford the $14.00 per day .. it gives me clean toilets and hot showers .. but later the numbers do build when its rodeo time and thats when it can be a little rowdy at night ..
Still a good place to camp if staying up that way for awhile ,as it is a lot cheaper than a lot of other places. When the Rodeo is on ,it was still a nice place to camp.

After I was given the opportunity to be released from a committiment I made to house-sit for a friend, I took off for Mareeba .. arrived here this morning !!
Its truly a place I could stay .. just love it and will be here for at least another 3 months at the Kerribee Park Rodeo Grounds .. will except all visitors passing through ..

no rain here lately .. apparently its been a quite dry time at Mareeba itself .. past experiencehas told me that it can also rain in nearby towns and will still bypass Mareeba ..
I just had a virtually dry run all the way from Ashford in Northern NSW over the last few days ..
Solid rain all day here in Biggy, 16 degrees. Seems to be covering a large area. You are lucky Jon to have fine weather there. Hope to make it up to Mareeba some time after July for a month or so.
Ok....I'm a Kiwi and I wouldnt have a clue where either Biggy or Mareeba is!! Do you think you could tell us which state it is or in what area?? Please :)
Wow !!! That lets me out. Thought it might make a good base for me, but not at that price .
Thanks Jon.
Cheers,
Sheba.
The Pollo club is only open to visitors between April and November,When we stayed there a few years ago you got charged per person not per site, but might have changed over the last few years.

I like Mareeba. Used to live there in the late 60s & early 70s. The caretakers at the rodeo grounds (not the chap that organises the camping) but the ones who live in the house down the back used to be my neighbours.
Yes .. thats how I am .. this place is like a second home to me .. and the opportunity to get back here wasn't wasted !
Kinda warm .. sorry .. hehe ..
I needed to get some electrical work done on my "wheels" and 'Brunos' up here has an attitude second to none .. all fixed on arrival before heading to the rodeo grounds ..

I've been told by several people that the Rocky Creek War Memorial Park is a good spot Sheba. CAW 6 #221. On the Kennedy Hwy, 12 kms N of Atherton, or 23kms S of Mareeba. Donation box in the toilets. Doesn't look like there's any showers though.
