crab dinner 2.jpg

not sure what you are doing but seems to work as usual for me. Just thought I would chuck this in as a test - dinner the other night!

Advanced editor, attach file, download, insert..........

Thanks Spida, I'll give that a go, advance editor doesn't come up on replies, only Attach files, did try that though.

Thanks also Santa, I did try your method but must have been doing something wrong, I will have a careful re-read of the emails, I still have them thanks, I wasn't sure if they were for pm's only, but will find something to practice on later (off the to dentist shortly).

Thanks

Vic   PS:  I had no trouble with the old system of posting pic's to threads/posts on GN, don't know why I am having trouble now.

Works fine posting pics in the forum as well Vic, an added bonus is linking to ImageShack the pics retain a high degree of resolution and don't use up space on the GN server.smile

I just go to 'Start a new topic' and attach files - but yesterday it was shrinking down to just a tiny box where 'attach files' would have been. I thought it wouldn't work but clicking on the tiny box still made it attach the file. I did find I couldn't submit it until I'd made some sort of statement in the posting section.

Hi I just had to join in, I still have not found an easy way of resizing pics on the ipad, I don't understand this linking to image shack etc so if this works is the size acceptable. I only want to do the right thing.

Poppy sore eye your photo worked beautifully. The thumbnail sits there until we, the poster wanting to look at it, click on the thumbnail and it brings it back up to a good size for viewing. Try clicking on it in your post above and see if it gets bigger.

That's the best picture so far on this thread. It is the smallest download size of the lot. Each time a member accesses the thread they don't expend as much of their download allowance as they do for the large pictures. If we want to view the picture full size we can always click on it to view it. We only need to view it full size once and not every time we open the thread to check new messages. Feel free to keep adding your pictures in this format, I just wish others would follow suit.

Thanks Santa,

Appreciate the help and have kept procedures etc, am curious why I can't download using GN like I could before though.

Have not forgotten Image Shack (did give it a go again, but must have stuffed it up, will do again when I return from GTG).

PS:  Anyone replying, not ignoring your posts, will be away on GTG tomorrow for 5 days.....

OK - when you first do a message you should see 'attach files' below "show Preview'

AFTER you click on 'Attach Files'  and download your photo files it should  come up as below - then click on insert and it will come in to the text box area.

crab dinner 2.jpg156KB[remove] [insert]

Getting back to my problem (still there), a short time ago when downloading pics (downsized and message board size) we had had drop down browse menu on GN where they could be downloaded and I had no problem with that.

However this seems to have been changed to a different method now and I am still having trouble with a simple download solution just using the forum and My pictures from Windows (my pic's already adjusted and saved to my pic's beforehand). .

I get to the stage of the download starting and only getting so far on the download bar, then stopping and not completing the download.

I have waited patiently for it to finish but it doesn't go any further.

Any clues as to why it is doing this ?????

PS:  I know there are other ways of doing this, but the simple way should work too.

Seriously Vic, the simple way is ImageShack, works every time and posts superior images.

Once you get the hang of it it's a doddle.

Won't mention another word on the subject.biggrin

I am doing what spida has said here, my download starts along the download window line but doesn't complete, so I don't get the link to insert.

I am using a desktop.   As said before it worked ok before it changed from the multi line browse/download this site was using before, but won't work on the new one.

I can't see why it doesn't work for me (without using another alternative method), which is why I started this thread.  I have also pm'd Cindy to see if she can help but no reply yet.

Spida, how long do your downloads take before it completes and you get the link to insert????
