Wow that didn't last long, just over 2 years...we had to replace our Prado one, but it came with the car when we got it, so no idea how old it was.

2 years is about the norm, even for expensive deep cycle batteries. That's about right for lead acid batteries. I paid $310 for a 150 amp/hr deep cycle and only got just over 2 years from it. I think the gel and AGM types will last longer, but are more expensive. It would be nice to get a few years out of them.Bill

I have tryed almost every type and brand of battery on the market for tug and vans ,and only get enough time out of them to last just past warrenty.

The usage you give a battery will usually determine how long it will last.

My current car battery in the Triton is now over 3 years old with no sign of weakening.  It rarely ever drives less than 5kms on a start & usually much more.

The van battery is over 6 years old & likewise going fine.  It is never allowed to get below 50% capacity, 12.2v and even when parked up at home the solar system keepes it trickleing on 'float'.

Cheers Neil

ac delco, exide, and a couple of others are all the same, just forgot the other two for the moment, different labels is all. when you fit them they should take your mileage and scratch the date label on the battery. easy maintenance battery's don't need to check the water.

Just replacing the Pathfinder original after 5 years I suppose they are like Monday and Friday cars but the short shelve life is not a good recommendation for battery cars
