Beautiful sunny day in Perth at the moment, blue skies without hardly any cloud. No doubt the lull before the storm!
Any chance you could get to the get together in Beverley in a weeks time Barrie? Day visit from York maybe???? Sunny weather predicted for that time....
Black clouds coming over now (midday Perth time) from the North/West.....
I would rather be warned about possible impending storms even if they fizzle out, gives you a chance to prepare just in case, better than waiting until too late. Even just getting the washing in is a plus, securing loose objects etc, especially if going out for the day....
We are at Kalbarri and the rain has just started 8:30 pm,not much wind as yet but that could change. All battened down so nothing to do but wait and see.
Cheers, Norm..

Some people up north of WA in cyclone prone territory have tie down anchors for the chassis and throw over tie down straps.
General high winds should not be too much of a problem except best to face van into the wind if possible rather than sideways to it....
Its funny really vic, ours is still chained down and its just easier to leave them there. The funny bit is if we get hit with a cyclone all that will be left is the tied down chassis the rest will end up in the next town. Because my wife works in the age care centre in broome we have been both been assked to go there in the event to assist as I have some training in the sector also. So if there is a blow down south just be carful.

So true about all the tie downs ,your so rite in what you say in that if the big blow hits would not matter what you had to tie down a caravan it would end up in match sticks .When we were up north in WA working .We just used to check to see all the dots were crossed on the insurance policy.

The ones I saw at Pt Hedland Pretty Pool Caravan Park had the tie down lugs in the concrete pad, but some also had the straps over the top of the van as well and they were attached to the lugs too.....I don't suppose it would matter much in a serious blow, but might save it in lesser high winds etc......Hope you don't have to get called out. It's 8.40 PM here at present, some light rain but not much else at the moment, supposed to break loose about midnight, so see what happens! You be careful too blaze, hope you will all be ok and your services are not needed!
Looks like tonite's storm will miss Beverley but we may get some rain
Are you at Beverley at the moment? I think the predictions are that it will all be blow over by the time we go there for the GTG next week, will you be there????
Hi Duh yes we travelled today to Beverley and it looks like the right decision as it appears we will miss the worst of it. we are leaving thursday heading for Northam as the car is in for a service and then onwards to Exmouth unfortunatly we won't be here for the meet but the van park is ok with good clean facilities and only $26 per nite
It's a shame you can't be there for the GTG, but maybe next time. I was at Beverley C/P about 4 weeks ago, a nice place for sure.
Unpowered sites are only $10.00 pp but with full use of the campers kitchen and power points for laptops/phones etc, as well of course the ablution block, so good value for solo's. I think for two people it would be worth paying the extra $6 for powered for two ($26) as it would be $20 for two unpowered and the extra $6 for power would make it worth it IMHO.
When I asked Janet the caretaker about unpowered sites she said they just use the same sites, just you don't use the site power, but they have plenty of unpowered sites on the lower level, also power for another three vans if they want power.
I hope you enjoy Exmouth, keep an eye out for Magic Bob (GN member) he is heading to Exmouth from Beverley after our GTG there.....
Hi everyone,it's now raining quite heavy with plenty of thunder and the wind blowing a bit here in Kalbarri. Our annex is getting flooded not much we can do about it but sit back and enjoy the ride... NandK..
Cloudy. Gusty winds during the day. Rain, easing to scattered showers during the morning. Isolated thunderstorms. Damaging winds possible late this evening. Winds north to northwesterly 15 to 20 km/h increasing to 45 km/h before turning westerly 25 to 40 km/h during the day.
Storm front just passed over for about an hour, more coming, traffic lights out in a few different locations, our home power off for awhile (back on now), most rain we've had for a long time.
Just notice our TV a bit jumpy, partly the weather but noticed our outside TV antenna has been damaged (arm broken), still getting some reception though so still all good!
