Hi Rockey Lizard

How are you covered for accident cover if you have no third party accident cover on your vehicle and you are responsible for injury to another person.
Cheers
David

No, SA doesn't do that either. You just register the vehicle every year. No need to do anything else.

No need to get a roadworthy in Victoria either.

The only time is if you have bought a vehicle from another state and are registering it in Vic.

Gday...

VIC doesn't require RWC/Green Slip etc for rego renewal either.

[not wanting to start a debate, but I very much doubt if, because of annual RWCs/Green Slips NSW has any less 'clunkers' that are borderline roadworthy than any other state and no better 'accident incidence' . Green Slips just cost money/generate revenue with little measurable impact on road safety etc]

Cheers - John

In NSW you require a PINK slip (mechanical safety check) and a GREEN slip (3rd party insurance certificate) to renew registration for all vehicles, except for vehicles up to 5 years old, which require only the GREEN slip.

Its part of the registration, nothing extra required.

 Gday...

OOPS cry ... me bad no ... been a while since I lived in NSW ... forgot about the PINK slip .... cry

Still not wanting to start a debate ... but even so, without ANY statistical data to back my claim, I am fairly sure NSW vehicles are in no better condition and there are no less accidents (for whatever reason) in NSW than any other state.

Cheers - John

Some of the rust buckets, I have seen in NSW with interstate plates, certainly wouldn't be on the road here and at least once a year you have to make sure that your car is reasonably safe to be on the road, there are many slacko's around that don't give a dam about their own or others safety on our roads and only fix up there car when it is demanded of them to get the rego check done.

If your RV/Motorhome is over 4.5 tonnes in Qld you need a yearly vehicle inspection around the $100 mark.
