If anyone is visiting Margret River WA, a grate place to visit is the Berry Farm located at 43 Bessell Road M/River.WA.Situated in the Rosa Glen Valley not for out of Margret River.A food and vine lovers paradise, all produce and wines and cidar you can taste test.Plenty of room to park big rigs and also has a cafe located in a the old homestead.for morning / lunch/ afvo tea. Most of the preserves and wines/ ciders/ ports are made from fruit grown on the property and all the goods are made on site.
I have no business interest in this business other than recomending to others ,due to many visits there enjoying what they have to offer.
Thanks for the heads up Herbie and Mike, I have been to/through Margaret River a number of times but that is one place I have never been to. Will put that on my must visit list!
There used to be a Honeycomb factory/shop down a side street on the left just before the bridge going south, that makes and sells honeycomb products (if it's still there), it has a window you can look through into the "kitchen/factory" to watch them doing it, also worth a visit.
Ummmm.......I think Big Al might have struck again.....I was just informed by SWMBO that we have indeed been to the Berry Farm with the A'van Club we were in at one time.
According to her we had pumpkin soup and crusty bread in their cafe, also she bought a small bottle of some sort of fruit wine.....maybe I had a few too many and couldn't remember, I think the club had hired a bus to take us around for all the tastings etc......will have to visit there again to "refresh" the memory !
Having a bad memory can make old experiences new again, and watching movies again make it seem like the first time !
Another beaut place to have lunch or morning/ arvo tea or to buy some beautiful bread is the first backery shop coming into town ,IT looks like a old house with veranda i think wrapped around three sides and you can sit out there and people watch while sipping a latta .Also that fudge shop and the cheese factorey.Gee i miss Margret River. So much to to do there with out really driving for hrs to see things.
Now...Now Subway is far too healthy ..when you have the pick of some of the best foodies delites in the world at one's finger tips down that way...Maybe Subway is take the guilt feeling away ,after people have grazed on all the other delights there.

Errrrr.....I had my blindfold on when I drove past to the other placed, did graze at the bakery and fudge shop though !
Funny how a lot of us head for the local bakery when in towns, those not closed down by competition from IGA in house bakeries that is.
Having said that, thank goodness for IGA stores in the country, the new one at Ravensthorpe is huge!!!
Yep it is just part of the travelling , i recon goes hand in hand . Cannot remember where exactly in SA ,but on one of the roads there is this little tin shop well shelter that has home cooked bread out for sale every morning. He works on the honesty system. Just asked the wife if she remembered her answer was how would i remember you have tryed every bread shop out in OZ .....Gee she can be loving at times.
