Kakadu 3rd May

Kakadont if you want to camp between Cooinda and Jabiru - all  'closed due to seasonal conditions'.

Cooinda Lodge CP - $46 powered, $36 unpowered. $90 2hour sunset cruise. So thought I would be smart and camp.....ended up at Jabiru Lodge CP. Too much smoke around for me to be tempted to stop further south also - and very hot and  windy, and grass fires everywhere.

Enjoyed the drive but just dont think this is the right time of year to do this trip. Will see stuff on the way to Darwin instead.

Too much time to think today......why do Buffalo have to kakadu on the road. Why cant they kakadu in the grass. Spent the day playing dodgems with their kakidus.

We were there in June and there were still quite a lot of roads closed "due to seasonal conditions". The road to Jim Jim falls wasn't open till later in July I believe.... its just the way it is. Having Kakadu'd before, we stopped at Corroboree. Had fun , very cheap C'park at the roadhouse, did the croc-jumping cruise, visited Wetlands centre, dawn bird cruise on Corroboree Lagoon was the high point of the whole trip.

Hey Spida, I have heard if you run over the Kakapoo and get it Splattered up under car or MH and around the wheel wells it makes a great rust inhibitor.....TRUE, I would not lie........Trust me !!.........Sarg.
