Having received quite a few comments re the amount of posts I have made, for a while I decided to slow down as felt a bit embarrassed by my records eg. Did you know I had 18 posts on just one thread? No? Well I didn't either. Didn't know anyone was counting.

After a few queries as to where I was and some encouragement from some dear friends I reversed my decision and decided to go for the world record!! Hence my inane heading that means nothing to anyone. A bit like a lot of the headings that will never be found again in the search wilderness.

I have less than 40 posts to go to reach 10,000, I'm heading for the big prize.

Nobody needs to comment on this thread if they don't want to but if you do I am sure to reply. biggrinbiggrinbiggrinbiggrinbiggrinbiggrinbiggrinbiggrinbiggrinbiggrin

Is that your van in the picture Happy ?  I'm in the process of seeling a LC wagon and tent so that we can go the campervan way. Possible for a couple to travel in a van that size or maybe the Transit or Transporter size do you think ??

Congrats on the posts, Happy, and I hope you reach the record. As to Weedy's question, I'd say a van that size would be okay for a couple, provided you're on good terms. I had a Kombi campervan about that size with a tent that attached to the side door. Tons of room for me and a friend. And if it was just me, I'd skip the tent.

Thanks GaryKelly.

Why is the word " Guru " beneath some pictures ? We have a town down the coast a bit spelled Giru.

Yes Weedy that is my van in from of The Big Mandarin at Gayndah.

I certainly wouldn't want to have two in a van that size but in saying that I have seen couples in vans about that size.

I met a lovely couple at Wuruma Dam who had a Toyota HiAce Commuter. They had it well set out and were very comfortable. It had the midi roof and I could stand full height easily with the roof being just above my hair height.

Exactly what I would like if and when I get the chance to replace Myrtle.

Agree with you there Gary. Would have to be on very good terms.

The word Guru under our Avatar is out status. You have to be good to get that label. lol

Actually it is based on the amount of posts you have made. I wonder what I will be called when I get to 10,000.

I have always thought that my 2 birth Transit was only big enough for me and my dog. However, will test that as I will be taking my sister home to Brisbane in a couple of weeks. She may also have her two Jack Russels. Should be interesting. But shes lots of fun and I think we will get along just fine.

A local business is selling [ not "seeling " as per my previous post ] 10 Toyota Hi-top ex rental campervans.
From 2001 to 2005 models, having a look tomorrow.
I'd prefer a van with the engine out front as would like walk through access, only seems to be a few models where this is available.

Worst case scenario is divorce after the first week ??

HW, in another forum, I have over 11,500 posts. I only talk (well type really) a lot when it's on the computer. I'm shy in real life.

looked at the 60 and thought 40 to a 100. Didn't click till it was pointed out I had missed a while 1000. Does that make sense??

Wish I could just be tootling around too Mel. Will be heading south in June for the birth of a new grandson. Never mind, haven't done too bad. In the last two months 10 days in NZ, and 1 week at Wuruma Dam. Slowly getting out there.

Were you able to do travel without erecting some sort of exterior tent affair? That's what's getting to me, having to do the tent thing night and morning plus inferior sleeping conditions.

No Gerty, I put it in here for a reason.
I have always tried to be correct on this forum and have always suggested corrections for others who have posted in the wrong place, with no success.
So this is my turn to do what I like regardless of what others think. I know I will get a few slaps for doing this, but others do it all the time and get away with it.
You only have to look through the general forum at the moment to see how many threads should be in another section.
Maybe I'm trying to make a statement. Who knows.
