Gidday Margret, I live downnon the Bellarine Peninsula, and have travelled the G.O.R . a lot over the last 45 years   [ and seen it change a lot ?? ]

I have found that the worst time for Wind is from the 1st of January to the 31st of December biggrin Nah ?? only kiddin,

However you will Always find it windy down that way as it sweeps in off the Ocean, You will find like most Tourists do it can be nice, warm and '' breezy'' or it can be Cold, Wet, and Bl--dy Windy

But when you are in the shopping strips across the road from the Ocean, It will still be quite comfortable, it is only when you rise to the top of the dunes, that you will find the wind annoying on a warm day, and Bl--dy annoying on a cold day

It is a wonderful place that should be visited by everyone at least once, it is a great mix of rugged coastline and fabulous australian bush, PLENTY to see and do there..

When you come back please give us your opinion of it,  Enjoy ------------ Regards  Dazren

Laughed a lot at that one dazren - but I agree, a beautiful place, don't be put off by winds - it is a coastal area facing south - it is winter, you are going to get wind and cold - but be prepared and you will enjoy it - some Victorian winter days are absolutely spectacular, blue sky and sunshine.

From what I've been told if you are travelling west you will get westerly winds and if you are travelling east you will experience easterly winds... my friend Murphy told me all about it.
