Gary Junction Road , traverses 600k predominantly through WA and is commonly accessed from Alice Springs or Marble Bar Karlamilyi Nat Park is 250k m east of Newman and 1.5million hectares , is Australias and porbably it's most remote Nat Park.July/Augest best time to travell.

Where to Camp,,,Jupiter's Well

Desert Queen Baths

Watrara Pool

Tjingkulatjatjarra Pool.

Awell prepered 4x4 is required to do this trip and make sure you are fully self contained in every thing , is not suitable for any type of c/ van.

At the store at Kunawarritji fuel last year was $3.20 litre.only open at certian times and if a funeral is on in the area forget about fuel for days. They work on N/T time zone although it is in WA , so make sure you work on N/T time zone as if you dont the store will be closed if you get there around 5ish working on WA time.

Would we do this trip again ...Um No .The old saying been there done that.Have visited a lot of Aboriginal communities in my travels, but this one was different , maybe because it is so remote.

Beadle's old ration truck sits beside the road a little down the track from store .Apparently it caught on fire in 1960 when they were working on the road ....the storey goes he shot a hole in the boiling water tank behind the cabin and made a cup of tea .
