Boat Harbour Chalets & Camping - WA

I have found a beautiful camping spot that is not in any of the camping books.  It is located on a well maintained gravel road off the South Coast Highway between Denmark and Walpole.  Easy to find with sign on the highway.  Lovely trees including lots of huge karri.  Some sheep, llamas and even camels.  A bit run down but has flushing toilets - showers are questionable.  Lots of room and only $8 per night per person and extra $5 for power.  Animals are welcome and dogs can fun free.  I have been here for three nights and have the place all to my self.  The owners live on the property.

Hey there Janno,

We're very interested in the camp site you mentioned,

Could you tell us what the sign says, and would the site be big enough for a 7m van ?

Any other information you have would be very handy, such as, is it near to the beach ? is there a time limit ?

Many thanks kiwijims

Sorry Kiwijims for the delay, I only found your post today.

I think 7metres would be ok, and I'm not sure how close to the beach, but you can ring Kelly on 08 9840 8212 and I am sure she will be

very helpful with any queries you have.

Cheers

I am going to pitch my tent here later on this year http://www.boatharbourchalets.com.au/ . The property is on a formed gravel track about 5 mins off the highway.  Boat Harbour Beach is about a 20 minute, depending on track conditions, drive from here.

I believe the business is for sale as well http://www.noagentproperty.com.au/private-real-estate/search/sell/WA/for_sale/commercial/10934/category--accommodation_tourism-/location-Outer_Perth-Denmark-Denmark

Boat Harbour beach is a cracking sheltered beach in the Quarram Nature Reserve accessable by four wheel drive only.  You used to be allowed to camp here and at Little Quarrum Beach but the DEC have posted no camping signs. http://www.rainbowcoast.com.au/areas/denmark/boatharbour.htm

I was down here last week working on the Bibblumun Track and as ever, despite the storms, it was a beaut spot.  http://www.denmarkwa.asn.au/map_denmarkwa_west.htm

I hope the links help anyone looking to visit.
