I recently removed the cover from my D-----C rooftop A/C to clean condenser and check drain holes and broke 3 of the 6 nylon push rivets (7mm) that hold the cover to the base. --- (having never seen them before, didn't know to depress the centre of the rivet to remove and re-use). Price of new rivets from manufacturer or dealers are $12 to $13 each !!! --- Found on web could buy a pkt of 200 in UK for 3 quid (about $5.80) plus about $10 post to Oz. But local auto smash repairer had them at $1.40 ea.--- Hate to buy a serious part from D-----C or dealers.
They seldom miss you and if they do they will do a U turn to get you another way. You would think in this day and age of the net that dealers would be more reasonable with their rip offs . I always look on the net first up
