Virus warning

I tried twice to open The Office thread, and each time had an alarm from our virus protection program, had to close it down, wasnt able to stay there long enough to even see what JC had posted.

Anybody else have problems like this?

Edit... I think the people who design these programs would be jealous of those pics (seen very briefly... looks beautiful) so they want us all to miss out on seeing them.

Strange GD, nothing naughty with the post, 4 replies & 44 views.

The post only contains 3 pics of where we are. It must be a false alarm.

JC.

Chris Your post image looks like a screen dump to me. ie the PrtSc button prints the actual screen, you can then open word and go Ctrl and v simultaeneously to copy the screen to the word doc. Did you (or the cat,,,lol) accidentally hit PrtSc??????

I used to use PrtSc process to keep electronic receipts that were not emailed to me, as Telstra does.

I also had McAfee scan this website and it found nothing.

So?????

ANOTHER ISSUE i HAVE IS SOME OF MY POSTS HAVE HAD WORDS UNDERLINED AND i DON'T LIKE SOMEONE/SOME PROGRAM changing my posts,,, ahhhhhhhh.

Something funny is going on. Sometimes when I open this thread the posts are full of random characters (question marks in blue diamonds and red squares).

When I refresh the page they are gone ?????

I told the virus protector to bug**r off, and opened the thread and the computer didn't crash so I think its all a false alarm
Weird because I've been on this forum for years and that's the first time its happened. Reckon its about jealousy, they are lovely photos JC.

 No offence taken

It might be a result of the forum software compressing text for compact storage. Although i have not seen it before, until Gerty Dancer mentioned her antivirus software flagged it as suspect....

I had a virus last week - ended up having to have a "clean write" done - so am starting from scratch with just about everything!!!!!

Bit of a pain - but hopefully all well now. What is it with these people who put these viruses out - why can't they just pick on someone big - like The White House or something?????? Why pick on us little people???

If I may add a little here....hmm

Firstly, if 'everybody' on the forum sees the same obscure result, the 'problem' will almost certainly be with the sender/host...if the viewing results seen are variable amongst members, in a similar timeframe.... well, its far more likely based on the recipient member's operating system/security software etc...

I had no problems looking at the wonderful pics and subsequent comments on said 'Office' thread, for example.

Secondly, whatever virus-protect software anyone chooses to install, it is a very good idea that such software is updated regularly, for each computer/device used...as the computer viruses will always be changing, so should the protection software be updated. Yep, there's lots of 'crazyhead stuff' going on out there in internet-land.

I use Avast and Malwarebytes anti-virus software. Both free, both 'opensource' and regularly enhanced, both good IMHO.

I hope this adds to the thread and I post this with no inference intended about all other posts..all good. smile

BD has been around years, that indicates its a good VC, I use Trend Micro also been around years.

I have a dvd full of old viruses, every now and then I stick it in to make TM work for the money I am paying for it. biggrinbiggrin (just to check its still working)

If it's reputable and affective software it will keep you informed, I currently use Bitdefender antivirus plus, have always used good AV software and have never had a problem.
