when you're having fun OR not, my middle son turns 40 today and it makes you think about what has happened and what you have achieved in those 40 years..........as I sit here in our van I am in a very reflective mood about life and what's it all about.
I know what you mean, I sometimes think that the older you get, the faster the years seem to roll by and you wonder at how quickly you've achieved "Senior Status". Would we do things differently if we had our time over again, on reflection, I guess the answer is a mixed bundle of yes and no's. I remember reading a book years ago and a character in the book said he had to be able to look at himself in the mirror and know himself for who he truly was. Anyway, we can't go back, so as my signature says, "Seize The Day" and do unto others and all of that. By the way Pauline, did you go the The Man From Snowy River Festival? If you did, hope you had a good time. Cheers, Annie
I'm sure I'll be in for a shock when I visit places on the Big Lap that I haven't seen for 40 or 50 years. The thing about memories that go back a long time is that they're so crystal clear... as though they happened yesterday. It's spooky.
Yes Annie we did go to the festival, hubby enjoyed it immensely and wants to go back next year, just so much to see though I woke up with the flu the day we left so in a way I was hoping the Man from Snowy River would fall off his horse and I could just go home but no such luck, we did have a lovely camp right beside the Murray and I spent most of my time lapping up the beautiful weather, unfortunately was just too crook to really get into the swing of things but if we go back next year will go for at least a week and have a really good look around.
Sorry to hear that you weren't fit enough to fully enjoy the experience of the Festival, better luck next year, but from the sound of it at least the sun was shining for you, it's a beautiful part of the world. Cheers, Annie
