Just spent three days down at 1770/ Angus Water,would not know they were deverstated during the last two recent floods up this way.
All up and running as normal, good fishing and mud crabbing was had by your's truley.Stayed at Angus Waters c/ van park would recomend it, beaut spot over the road from beach and lush green lawns.Went out to see the Bustard Hill light house on Lady Musgrove Iland it has been fully restored and well worth a visit, we went out on the Pink Lark tour.

Um... Herbie....... Agnes & 1770 didn't get flooded.....just cut off by flooded roads......Have a look west at Boyne Valley, north near Gladstone and south to Baffle Creek, Winfield and Bundaberg to see the flood devastation. But I'm glad you had a good time.

Gorgeous little spot , got a friend in agnes waters, 1770 has the most gorgeous camp site most times ive been its been pretty packed too.
But it is a lovely spot, always windy though i have no idea why, every time i have been its been windy,we too had the reef tour booked but it rained for seven days and seven nights so it was called off ,was not with the pink lark though was with a bigger cruise boat, so they had to reimburse us.
The park is not the 5 star bells and glam , but the most beautiful location any where north of Noosa, in my book, $35 per night in my reconing is not too bad for it's location.There is a free over night stop past the Captain Cook Holiday Village c/ park on R going towards 1770 yoy will find it on your L. It is nice and shady , has toilets and a dump point. Also a low cost camp called the Workers Camp ,to find this camp spot head straight through Anges Waters and head out of town a few ks it is a camp spot about $5 per night ,but i would not take a van down the narrow dirt track, but i have on the odd occasion seen small vans parked up there,toilets there.
Do you need a Four wheel drive to get to the Workers Camp at Agnes Water herbie ? Haven't been there for a good few years, so not 100% sure where it will be, but I think I might have an idea, unless Agnes has changed beyond all recognition.
We were driving around on of the natural parks _the pne that heads back bundi way) come across a pretty young lass set up in her motor home ( converted bus) offering her services. Had a chat with her and she was certainly a free spirit, said she always had enough business to keep her busy and fund her travels. cheers blaze 1770 is a spot I had annual trips for about 5 or 6 years every October fishing
Beth54, it is a real beaut spot with lots of big shade trees and just a few meters from the beach, but far enough back that it is not windy.Also there is always a few people camped there,so no problem of danger.We have camped there a few times in the tent as our van is too long to fit in there. You also can have a fire if you have your own wood.Down along the beach front we have often found crabs in the rock holes. We find it is also a great place to dive around in that area as a lot of rock formations.
Lovely spot! Stayed at Workmans beach Oct. last year and went fishing, and sightseeing. Good phone reception, and tv, and walking distance to shops .The Lark tour is recommended. Take the cheaper sunset tour (about$35 , if I remember right), great. Workmans is easy, you don,t need a 4wd.Recomended.
They tell me that the 1770 c/ van park in the summer is booked from one year to the next in advance,I always think they are packed in so close to each other that you would not want to be next to someone who zzzzz as you sure as hell would not get any sleep. The other thing is they tell me it is a party /drinking half the night park.As in the summer holidays that is what they all go there for.We own some land and a shed not far from Aggy Waters .So getting to know the area a little bit more now.

i still reckon even though i never stayed in it that 1770 c/van park always looked so much nicer spot than agnes wates c/van park ,but the one in 1770 was mostly always booked out when ever i went .Now no need as have a mate in agnes waters about 5klm out so stay with him :)
Went to the info bay at Anges waters when in QLD a few years ago and got a bad reception when I told them I was looking for a camp site. Was told in no uncertain terms that the likes of me belonged in caravan parks and if I did not want to stay there then to move on. They got a bit upset when I told them I was with a group and we all needed fuel and food but would wait till we found an area where we could free camp. They wanted to know why we would not buy in their area and did not see that even though we preferred free or cheap sites we bought all our supplies where we camped. That area got nothing and we all passed through. Will always pass there now and tell others of the experience. Regards Brian
