Some info on Jacknifing, any comments on your own experience or knowledge of the subject welcome;

On the next link below, just under the video section, there is a button that says "read more", there are 4 pages of info to read and very much worth clicking on "Read More" for the next pages.

Thanks, Vic. That clears up what I'd expected. Pretty hard to jackknife a slide-on though hehe. But one thing I hate doing is overtaking a long semi, especially a B double, and more especially on a wet road when the truck is spraying water and mud all over the place. I'd rather sit behind and be patient. If it's a cattle truck, I keep my distance as well.

I used to drive Semi's before doing my Electronics Trade many years ago,

Jacknifed one once, when I jumped on the Prime Movers Brakes,when a Car didn't turn left as

Indicated,and just kept going in front of me,(Didn't have time to pull on the trailer Brakes)

Can't remember what I said,but,It wasn't Printable.

A Jacknife is in fact a rather Stable situation for the vehicle doing it

because you have 3 points of Stability,like a Triangle,usually hard to tip

over if you are on level ground.

I have to admit,that is hard to keep that in mind,when you see a 30 foot

Trailer whipping around,towards you,in the Cab,thinking,this is going

to Remove this Cab,and My head as well,as it passes.

Didn't need an underwear change,But it was close.

This is one type of jacknife that none of us would want, a pity the other party weren't around to give their version of events, but a very sad outcome for everyone, click save and then open;
