My husband has just started using a CPAP and as we will be on the road we would like to know what the power usage is per night . It will be running on 12 volt through a 180w pure sine wave inverter which was supplied with the machine .
Hi Chris, just wondering what brand is the CPAP ,are you using a humidifier and what size battery(amphour) do you have? I have a CPAP and it was connected to 200amp/hr battery with no problems. cheers Peter.

Hi Thanks for replying . The machine is a Fisher and Paykel with a humidifier and we have a 130 w solar panel and 2 x 120 amp hr batteries . 12 v power is used for lights and tv at night and never come close to low batteries so it should be ok Thanks again Cheers
I have just installed a 12v socket outlet for mine and got the approved lead (phillips unit with 2 very heavy Iron cores on it ) I recently took it away for the weekend and I have a 150AH battery for the van and used it over 2 nights and the battery voltage was only showing a 0.6 volt drop from when I started and the unit draws 5amps so approx 40AH per night so I cannot see you having any problem why don't you use it on the 12v supply only using an inverter is only using more power from the battery as you have some losses in the inverter
