Has anyone had to put in a service kit one of these jacks. Mine is leaking out of the raise/lower tape and has decided to stop working altogether now. I can get one of the service kits locally. If you have worked on one of these jacks, was it an easy job to do and did you need any special tools. I have put this post up on the tech forum as well
Trust you can help as we are getting ready to get back on the road in a week or two.
Regards
Brian.

For the price of them you shouldn't need a kit, those jacks are $385.00 each ,I bought an electric one for$180.00 ,sorry Brian this is not helping you much, this one I have has a detachable foot ,you can fit a wheel on it .

Yeh Olley, But the Trail-a-mate. is a very versatile pce of equipment, It is a Jockey wheel/or stand, It is a Jack for lifting the Van, and you can also easily use it to Jack up one side of the van, if your on un-level ground, they are not cheap, bit they are very good/ and so easy to use.
Can i ask how long you have had your Trail-A-Mate for ? As due to the price of them i hope mine doesnt need any serviceing to the extent you are talking about or i will not be happy.
My previous Van had the sidewinder. No maintenance problems. Unfortunately it went when Van traded.
The hydraulic one would be good but I have heard of many problems with leaking plus the price not realistic.
Looking at another sidewinder, $190.00 to $209.00. Prefer the flat plate over the wheel as less stress on jockey wheel bracket. ( I did have one break away from the A frame.)
