Me time

I love some time to myself and I guess that is a big part of why I love being retired and the ability to travel around in our own recreational vehicle is a huge bonus.

Most mornings I am up with the birds in that pre dawn time. I generally treasure this time. I always have, even when the kids were little. I love to watch the sun come up and if it is not too cold (or too many mozzies), I might spend extra time in bible study & devotion outside even. I just find it easier to worship God outside when I can see the evidence of His hands in the mountains, the sky and the sea.

Some people don't seem to need this time to themselves. My hubby is one of these but he understands that I need it.

When do you get to experience a special time to indulge yourself, especially if you are travelling in an RV with a partner?

I have a fuller post on this subject here if you are interested.

While we are still living in our home, I treasure my me time. I have my own room in the backyard, I love it. At the moment my youngest daughter is in high school all day, hubby is working 5 days away and 2 home...so I have 5 days a week by myself to do as I please.

Then comes the time when we sell up and move permanently into our van. I am fine with not have alone time, so long as I get an hour or so to do what I love, reading, blogging or chatting to my kids. Being with Les is going to be the first time ever we will have spent time on our own, I had 3 kids when I met him, he had 2 adult children....so we have never been alone. It will be like a second honeymoon and we are so looking forward to it.

In answer to your question...I think so long as you can have some time doing what you want, then it's great to spend the rest of the time together. Doing your own thing can just be sitting reading in bed before you go to sleep...I love this time. It's a way of getting in touch with ourselves, and I think we all need that sometimes.

I also treasure time alone to contemplate things. Early mornings and evenings are special times for me too but not for the same reasons... I like photography, and that's when the light is much softer, without harsh shadows. The colors of the sky are also much more interesting. Time alone and time for chatting. Both are important.

My "me time' is when I get in one of my kayaks for an hour or so's paddle at first light.  Then back to the Van to get on the bike for an hour or so .. just as the walkers are getting going.   Of course there must be no wind or rain!

Back to the van to shower & change in time to cook a full breakfast for SWMBO.

Great 'me time' and a great way to start the day.

Finish up the day sitting outside the van solo, reading the Kindle with the third glass of white.  'More me time'

Tough life ...

At home I retire downstairs after dinner & re run State of Origin RL games in 3D on the big screen .. where Qld always wins!

(tonight I watched the one where Alfie came back from the UK to lead the goodies to a great win  .. sorry Freddie!)

Occasionally I watch us thrash the Poms or even better NZ!!!!

Love it ....

G'day   Me time/my time is all the time because if you think about my time it is about being alive in good and bad times, so I just make the most of all my time because in no time down the track you will run out of time.

Thinking about time has made me think that it is about time I made some breakfast and got moving but then again I have all the time so no need to worry about time I just enjoy having a life time all the time.

Silly thoughts so early in the morning, watching the sun rise over Barcaldin at a free camp and looking forward not looking back.

This life is so good all the time, enjoy and make the most of your time.

Cheers

Kev
